Thanks for the link, Guntotin'. I've also got an old Colt my daughter and her husband gave me for father's Day a few years back. 4" barrel, black plastic grips, on the left side of the barrel it's marked "Colt 32 D A", on the right it has the "Police Positive" with the single "P", but on the left hand side of the frame, just above the grips, it says "Colt's New Police" around the Rampant Colt, serial #545XX. Maybe I kind find out something about that one there. :thumbsup:

"Colt New Police" was Colt's name for what is generally known as the ".32 S&W Long" cartridge,

The serial number indicates 1907 which was the first year for the Police Positive 32.

Thanks, guys. It's a wall hanger for sure, lots and lots of end play and the cylinder is real loose at lock up, but my kids (not gun people at all) went out of their way to find me that old gun. Kinda special to me. Wait till I tell them it's 103 years old. They'll get a kick out of that.
